Perinatal and Maternal Therapy
For every stage of motherhood

Pregnancy and Postpartum
People keep saying “It goes by so fast” or “Soak up every moment,” and instead of feeling comforted, you just feel guilty for not being able to.
Baby blues is lasting more than a few weeks, and something is preventing you from feeling the way you always hoped during this time, and you are not alone.
1 in 5 women struggle with a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder (PMADs), and even if you don’t meet criteria for a PMAD, you can still find relief with therapy from whatever symptoms you’re dealing with.
Is this you?- You’re pregnant and find your heart racing every time you think about having to give birth.
- Motherhood so far is not matching your vision.
- You’re grieving the loss of your identity amid all the new roles.
- There is tension or distance in your relationship since welcoming your little one.
- Perfectionism is creating guilt and stress.
- You feel touched out, and the invisible load of motherhood has you feeling checked out.
- Intrusive thoughts are keeping you up at night.
You thought it would get easier by now, and kept telling yourself, “Once the baby sleeps… once I stop breastfeeding… once I go back to work… once we hit that next milestone…”
But here you are, years into motherhood, and you’re still not feeling like yourself.
You love your child deeply, but you’re just not enjoying motherhood the way you hoped to.
Therapy past pregnancy and postpartum can support you in figuring out what is off, and bring balance and ease to your life and parenting.
Is this you?- The early postpartum stage has past, but something still feels off.
- You feel distant, disconnected, or resentful, and then guilty for feeling that way.
- Irritation and reactivity come quickly, and you wish you could be the mom that never yells.
- You expected to feel more joy by now.
- “Am I just not cut out for this?” is something you’ve thought in secret.
- The version of yourself before motherhood is missing, but you’re not sure how to find her again.
- You’re so overwhelmed with managing being a mom, your partner has started to feel more like your roommate.

Beyond Postpartum

Conscious Mothering
You’re not just thinking about how to become a parent, but who you want to be as a parent.
You’re thinking about how to hold space for your child without losing yourself, to disrupt generational cycles you don’t want to pass on, and how to become the kind of mother who leads with intention and presence, not perfection.
Therapy can go beyond symptom relief and into deep healing that leaves behind more space to choose how you will show up for yourself, your children, and in all relationships.
Is This You?- Old patterns, beliefs, or family dynamics that you don’t want to pass down need addressing.
- You’re asking big questions about what kind of parent you want to be.
- Emotional preparation is just as important to you for the journey into motherhood as physical preparation.
- You want a space to reflect deeply on your own upbringing, identity, and the kind of family you want to build.
- A less traditional path to motherhood is in the cards for you, and you find yourself feeling both excitement and grief. You want space to explore your hopes and fears.
Some stories of motherhood begin with heartbreak, fear, or disconnection.
You might be grieving a pregnancy that ended too soon or holding pain from a traumatic birth.
Therapy can help you process your grief and loss in a way that makes space for healing without the pressure of having to move on or be okay.
- You’re grieving a miscarriage, stillbirth, pregnancy loss, or infant loss and feel like the world has moved on but you haven’t.
- Big emotions like grief, fear, rage, and numbness are paralyzing.
- You’re trying to hold it together for your job, your family, or your other children.
- Moments from your traumatic birth keep replaying in your mind.
- You were told “you and the baby are fine,” but you don’t feel fine at all.
- “Does this even count as trauma” is a thought that crosses your mind.
- You didn’t feel heard, safe, or supported during your birth experience.
- Since giving birth, or experiencing a loss, you feel disconnected from your body, your baby, or yourself.

How long do I need to be in therapy?
The short answer: it depends!
Everyone responds to Brainspotting differently, and the pace of healing varies based on your goals and history. Many people experience relief more quickly with Brainspotting than with traditional talk therapy, but I can’t guarantee results within a specific timeframe.
Some clients feel significant relief early on and choose to conclude therapy. Others experience early progress and feel inspired to continue to explore how much more healing is possible.
How frequently do I need to attend sessions?
I recommend you attend weekly sessions in the beginning for about 3 months. After this we reassess together a treatment frequency that works for you.
How long until I start to feel better
This depends on a variety of factors including your history, your unique nervous system, your support system, and more. We will work at a pace that is comfortable for you. There is no expectation or pressure attached to the timeline. Healing can take time, and I am here to honor that process and the pace that feels right for you.
Is Brainspotting safe for pregnancy?
There are no known contraindications for Brainspotting during pregnancy. However, it’s understandable to have concerns, particularly about the potential impact of emotional processing and stress during a session on your baby.
My perspective is that if you are experiencing distress significant enough to bring you to therapy, your baby may already be exposed to effects of elevated stress. Brainspotting can support you in regulating your nervous system, reducing stress, and creating a calmer internal environment for both you and your baby.
We will work together closely to ensure you remain within your window of tolerance throughout the process, prioritizing your emotional and physical safety as well as your personal comfort.
Ultimately, the decision to engage in Brainspotting during pregnancy is yours. While I can support you from a therapeutic standpoint, I am not a medical provider. If you have any medical concerns or questions, I recommend consulting with your prenatal care provider.
Do you Diagnose?
Because I do not accept insurance, you are not required to have a diagnosis in order to receive care. I have a trauma-informed, non-pathological approach to therapy, meaning that I view symptoms as communication. I tend to think that humans are incredibly adaptive, we figure out how to survive in difficult circumstances, and sometimes those survival adaptations start to work against us. Brainspotting helps us move from surviving to thriving and doesn’t require a label to do so.
But can I have a diagnosis?
Yes, assuming you meet diagnostic criteria. It is my main aim to support you. If you feel a diagnosis is helpful to you for any number of reasons, or you need one to access additional support outside of therapy with me, I will happily explore this with you, and provide a diagnosis if appropriate.
Do you provide couples counseling?
My main focus is on women in the perinatal period. I have a systems approach to care and recognize that your relationships and home environment can not be separated from your perinatal experience.
I do see couples who are coming in for specific support around navigating the perinatal phase and their changed relationship after having a baby. I also welcome partners in session to observe the work to build compassion and connection when it is appropriate. Partners may even process together.
My couples session fees are $180 for a regular 50 minute session, and $250 for an extended 90 minute session.
